As much as I can read above he's talking about gv and not ghostscript man gv tells us: -watch, -nowatch The -watch option causes gv to check the document periodically. If changes are detected gv will auto matically display the newer version of the file. The document is by default checked once every sec ond. This can be changed via the watchFileFre quency resource. Note that sending gv the SIGHUP signal also causes an update of the displayed docu ment. This method may be used by document creators to trigger gv remotely. And we have this already, don't we? Can't we specify this runtime params of the Postscript-Viewer in the lyxrc file?
