Ascii export is producing characters that appear in emacs as \200, \300 and 
in "more" as M-@

e.g.:

New insight was provided by \200[Butler:Tsuda97]\200 when they demonstrated 
convective...

... and:

Nevertheless, the mechanism driving this mixing is still not 
clear. \300

One plausible source, geometric hysteresis of the alveolar wall ...

Can anyone shed any insight on this as I have no idea what they mean. They 
aren't in the original .lyx file.
