What kind of documentation? I have a clear recollection of writing 
up something...

I believe svjog.layout (jog = Journal of Geodesy) is the replacement 
for ejour2.

About ejour2, last time I used it (or svjour) was many years ago. If
you have used svjour recently and are happy with it, I say: let's bin
ejour2. And the ejour2.cls included in LyX as well. (Sigh, my earliest
LaTeX hacking.)

BTW someone should look at llncs.layout as well, as it claims to be
based on ejour2. At least this comment (and others inside) could be
sanitized. And someone with an excess of energy could try to base it
on svjour...
