no, inside ert is only ert! but you can left ert with an open end, means only an opening parenthesis. than you can do what you want. LyX doesn't know that this first ert is incomplete. Another ert with the closing parenthesis makes it latex ready. Between these two ert's you can have all inset stuff as usual. Herbert -- http://www.lyx.org/help/
