We are talking about two keystrokes per _session_ (which even can be saved by the alias) and adding a dozen lines or so of code to the lyx core. I think I don't lean to the 'let's implement it' side. Well, maybe if there were a more general solution (like some .lyx/start containing commands to be performed on startup) I would think otherwise...
