when clicking on the Show selection box, I get the following list:
Show:
Default
Monochrome
Grayscale
Color
Do not display
where "Show:" is one of the items in the selection, but it's in a
very special bolt font with white filling and a box drawn around
it This "Show:" should be removed from the selection list, if we
keep this selection style.
However, since this overrides the Preferences settings (that's what
it does, doesn't it?), it would be wise to use the same style for
setting this value: either both use the Graphics selection button,
or both use the Preferences check buttons.

I see, the bounding-box itself is a rather mathematical concept.
How about the following terminology and simplyfied layout for
the Bounding-box-tab:
