Yes, I read through the thread. And I tried to reproduce the error, but failed to do so. Whe I look at the tab sizes, they seem to adapt to the size of the text even if it is much longer than the english original. The size of the tabs *is* definitely different in english and german versions. I get the impression that it's probably an error of the font. What seems to happen is that the size gets computed from the length of the string, but somehow this size is wrong. But where is the error then? Are you sure it won't show up on shorter words? > As you can see from the messages above, there's nothing that can be > done from the devel side. > Is it possible to replace those long words by shorter ones? Of course you can replace them. If you have good ideas how to name them... The question is more: *which* should be replaced? There is nothing from what I can see which should be changed. Many seem to be harmless. Trying to get everything to the size of the english term will end in a very hard to understand menu (unless you already know what is in there). I'll try to go through the file during the weekend, but (as my system doesn't trigger the segfault) I cannot check.... And of course, suggestions for short names are always welcome :-) Pit
