Hi folks,

Just a quick success story:

I got a new Dell laptop which came with Win2K. Yes, I plan on putting Linux
on it, of course... But meanwhile, just for fun, I did this:

1) I grabbed the latest cygwin (from cygwin.sourceforge.com) by running
the setup program and installing everything I could find there.

2) From the same place, I installed XFree86 4.1.0 for Cygwin.

3) I installed the xforms-0.89 stuff from the Xforms home page.

4) Next, I tried just doing the usual: ./autogen.sh; configure; make

The make stopped with an error trying to compile os_win32.C.

I got around this by the following:

        mv os_win32.C os_win32.old; cp os_unix.C os_win32.C

Amazing, but true!

The make finished, make install worked and LyX runs!!!

Now, to get a working tetex for this setup...
