It happens everytime for me if the cursor is in the table when you click on the figure. This situation is even worse in one of my other documents because the cursor gets placed anywhere but where I click (the figure and table are in the same paragraph but the table is rendered below the figure because it won't fit next to it on screen -- there are two minipages side by side) so even if the cursor is initially outside the minipage in question the first click on the figure can see the cursor move to the middle of the table! Maybe we should fix the cursor placement problems first? Allan. (ARRae)
