How about just using the current converter/export stuff? Here is how I envision it: In your LyX document, you sprinkle various directives, for example: ----------------------------- ##MMDataFile: mydata.db## Dear ##NAME##, I am writing to you today to tell you of a grave situation in ##CITY##. I am not sure you are aware of the silent epidemic that is festering there. I am talking about the lice situation, of course. Now, ##NAME##, I know that you would not want lice in your city. Neither do I. That is why I am asking you, ##NAME##, to donate ##AMOUNT## to the "United Lice Eradication Fund." Please give today. Without your help, ##CITY## could become as bad as a camel's armpits. Yours Sincerely, ----------------------------- The file "mydata.db" could contain the field definitions and the data in an easily parsed format. You define a converter in terms of a perl script that does something like read the file and act on the directives, leaving all the generated letters in some other directory (in postscript or some other format to your liking). Then you can review and print the letters. The implementation details are left as an exercise for the reader. ---Kayvan -- Kayvan A.
