Hi,
[CVS as of Nov. 13th]
Go into in-line math, type "Shift-^" inside math and then "+".
The <sup>+ looks good. Now save, close and reopen the document;
the "<sup>+" is then something like "A{[]}<sup>+, with the
paratheses in red and the box in blue.
The final output (dvi or ps) is not affected; the problem is
only on the LyX canvas.
I have attached two small jpegs as examples.
