Jürgen, it would be better GUI-design to input integers only in the width input and to use a choice for the units. That way we have valid input always; no need for any feedback or checks at all. The example to follow is in FormGraphics.C if you want to take up the challenge. If not, then delegate back to me and I'll see if I can make time.
