Hello Michael, I'm just about to fiddle in the document dialog. What is exactly your problem with landscape and without geometry? It works here. The only thing I see is that in the standard classes you have very wide left/right margins, but I guess this are the settings of that classes. Geometry has other settings, as well as e.g. the KOMA classes have. I wouldn't chose Geometry automatically, maybe people want the default settings of the classes (especially in KOMA). But you can always chose the "geometry margins" if you prefer those. Would that be o.k.? Jürgen
