why not a settings key/lyxfunc which will automagically do ->edit() to
bring up the right dialog in any circumstance ? It could even bring up
the Paragraph dial in a para.

Or am I missing the discussion ?

it would quite nice if the inset button had an "?" button  next to it
which brought up the dialog perhaps
