Hi,
First, I wouldn't say that LyX is unstable in general! The major problem
with 1.1.6 concerns tables. Of course, I wouldn't blame you for leaving bugs
in a final release but I assume they have been known before shipping
as they were quite obvious. Before you are going to strangle me, I would
like to stress that the new table handling is very impressive and will be
a key feature of the forthcoming 1.2.0!!!
Meanwhile I am working with the latest cvs version and except for mathed,
it is usable (there are at least workarounds for things that do not work).
Concerning mathed and natbib, I propose to move the code
into the main CVS branch as soon as the code has reached a level where
it is at least partially usable. I fully agree with you that this is the
only way to speed up development and to find bugs in an early stage. If
natbib is available in the main branch, I will be the first to apply
it!
It is very positive that you intend to have a bug fix session at the next
developers meeting. However, there is no need to wait until then! I have
set up a list of outstanding bugs and you are free to fix as many as you
like :-) Isn't that a nice thought: You fix them now and will drink beer
at the meeting :-) As promised, I will try to maintain the list as long
as necessary.
Kind regards, Michael
