Well the problem is you used the "Alignment" fields also. This alignment
fields are exclusive, this means that if you fill them in they are used
and not others! You put there an "l" for left-aligned so obviously LyX
did output the table with an "l" alignment and not with the "p{5cm} alignment
it would if you would have left that field empty.
