Ok. I had a couple of hours sleep over it.
Mathed is currently broken and unusable for serious work. I have stated
this several times already.
Mathed is after application of the current patch (i.e. 78) still broken
and unusable for serious work.
Mathed will remain broken and unusable for serious work until the remaining
bits are finished or unless a complete roll back to the state of January
happens. The "remaining bits" are more or less the iterator/cursor and
the display size stuff and comprise perhaps 10% of the whole thing, rather
less I guess.
The old math cursor and the new multicell stuff are not overly compatible.
mathed78.diff marks some kind of niche of "peaceful co-existence" between
the two (there are a few three-line-changes that would move us closer to
the center of that niche, but that's rather cosmetics...)
Most of the current problems are certainly "fixable" by throwing enough
glue code between the cursor and the multicell stuff. This mean un-doing
some of the separation work and would be a major hindrance for exactly
those 10% of the work that remain.
There is always the option of a complete roll back so nothing is really
lost.
Working on glue that will get thrown out in a few weeks is wasted time
and annoying. So I simply won't do it.
