Far out, Michael! Thanks, I wasn't expecting such a rapid and sizeable
response!

For the other developers info:
Michael emailed me privately wrt. the GIFs thread started by John Levon
the other day. I gave Michael a list of things we/I want to fix in the
website -- starting with producing valid HTML -- yesterday!

I forwarded one of Michael's emails to the list -- in the GIFs thread --
which outlines some of his ideas for reimplementing/improving the LyX
website.

Okay, the W3C icon in the footers are a little misleading though because
the pages don't actually pass the validation tests because of problems in
the bodies of the pages [okay so it's a work in progress and will
eventually be true]. I really don't understand why it complains about
some of the stuff it does -- seems to be table related though because most
errors don't occur if you have a top menu bar rather than a side menubar.

Also I'm not sure which standard we should be choosing. I think most of
us just wanted to get HTML-4.01final but if you are happy to continue
developing the site I'm happy for you to decide which standard is best.
You're the man with industry experience after all.
