Well, there is always "alien".  But i prefer a clean compilation which
really cleanly fits the Debian system.  The reason i like Debian so
much is Debian's clean approach of being a clean system.  I abhor the
possibility of RPM-based distributions to install random RPM archives
from the net which have not necessarily been devised for the very
distribution used by the installer. ;-)
