I have now added code to the layout conversion script that should handle this automatically. If you want to try, replace the layout2layout.py script of your installation with this one: https://www.lyx.org/trac/export/05b922b8ad1868b9045098bb3a4557c833e0fda3/lyxgit/lib/scripts/layout2layout.py The layout should be converted to the new code on the fly when you start LyX (but changes will only be temporary).
