0) unpack the archive
1) open the lyx file

I do not understand: how can the caret be at the end of the window after
page down ? Here, its position is kept to be about the same (the
position where it was at section 1).

b) sits at the section 1.4 so that the two figures from section 1.3 will
push it outside from the window when loaded and displayed. But the display
never happens as there is an assertion.

Note that getting window geometry right for point 7 to appear might be quite
laborious.
