Thank you all for your work.
I can report that on the Mac Homebrew picked up 2.3.8 which worked out of the box (installing over 2.4.0 RC4 which I had manually installed) and it does pick up 2.4.0 which works out of the box. It does compile my large handbook without any issues other than between the chair and screen. The handbook (25 child documents) also converts easily to docbook5 and from there with pandoc to EPUB. That you can load into the Kindle Previewer and save as .MOBI which the Kindle app can read. Calibre can also read the EPUB and conver to MOBI but I haven't figured out its command line options. Finally, the books.app can also read EPUB but I haven't figured out how to put it into Landscape. We have had queries on how to write books for Kindle with LyX and I think we are getting there. greetings, el On 2024-06-01 01:30, Richard Kimberly Heck wrote: > Public release of LyX version 2.4.0 [...] -- lyx-devel mailing list lyx-devel@lists.lyx.org http://lists.lyx.org/mailman/listinfo/lyx-devel
