PS: if I can get constexpr to work, I will probably ask for C++14 so that we can change things like
        static docstring foo = from_ascii("foo");
which make coverity scan nervous, to things that are evaluated at compile-time. It seems that we can even define notations like a"foo".
I am not sure that constexpr support in C++11 will be enough for that.
