Ah, that. Yes, this is a very good example for Word's failed user
interface (LibreOffice doesn't do that).

Every time I use word, I am losing time in searching elements I'd
expect in Insert which they put in References. For instance, if I want
to insert a footnote, I need to find it in that References menu. Why?

Not sure what you are referring to. Word does not have such a menu. And if you are referring to the "References" category of the ribbon then both Word and Writer have it. I think it's just a matter of getting used. But I understand that it's hard at the beginning as with every new interface.
