You’re probably on macOS Monterey or Ventura and there is no usable Python utility on your system. LyX is using it for configuration and internal converter tasks. You should have been asked to download and install it on the first run. If that’s the case you have two options now. A) Download and install the Apple Python utility (agree to do so if the question comes) or B) Download and install the Python utility from the Python developers.
