LyX Developers, The MCNP code recently released a total refresh of its theory and user manual in support of the upcoming version 6.3 release, which has been converted to be wholly reliant on LyX. The manual is available at the top of https://mcnp.lanl.gov/manual.html with older versions below it available for comparison.
This manual is maintained by a cross-platform team whose members have varying degrees of comfort with LaTeX, making its use challenging for some, so LyX provides an excellent balance of accessibility and capability. While I don't challenge you to read this 1,078-page document, I do encourage you to read section 2.1.1, which describes the history of Monte Carlo particle transport generally and the MCNP code specifically. I hope this section is of interest from historical and technical standpoints. Note that the MCNP code was first released in the late 1970s and is one of the most recognized codes in its field with well over 10,000 worldwide users. Thank you for all that you do to maintain and grow LyX, and please recognize its importance and impact. Please contact me with any comments, questions, or concerns. Thank you again, Joel
