Embarrassingly I did not realize it, but now I do. Thanks. For lyx2lyx backwards conversion, I suppose there are 2 options: 1. Try to figure out the default color from the .lyx file and set the color explicitly. 2. ERT. By the way (relevant here but also curious), if we do (2), is there any way to ask LyX for the appropriate LaTeX code to put in ERT? I suppose not since lyx2lyx is a separate program? Scott
