Hi Uwe, We do have some basic version control support (including Git, but I don't think Mercurial). If your document is in a Git repository, you should be able to go to File > Version Control > Check in Changes, for example, to commit. You can also use LyX's document comparison feature combined with Git to compare the LyX document to a previous revision to see what changed. LyX doesn't currently support any push/pull operations.
