It was indeed never applied. Worse, I am not sure what was in this patch :)

This is code from QBitTorrent, that would obviously need to be adapted
to our needs:
I have committed a version of this code at d7a4f47e7d. I hope it can
help the case of #11875.
Stephan mentioned that the old patch did nothing n macOS. I think it is
normal as HiDpi support is handled in Info.plist in this case (and this
change has been done long ago).
