Yeah, the whole debate is mainly about the decimal point,
allowing us to live in the realm of 1-9 range -- which is
at least for some of us more comfy :)

The question really is why it should be wrong to give new major version +0.1.

Anyway, I do not see that this subthread is moving in a constructive
direction, so it's perhaps best to agree that we disagree :)

It's not a grave issue to me so if majority decides that we should
abandon the current versioning scheme I can live with that.

.. I might fight for LyX-year.minor versioning scheme once we hit 9 though :))
