Riki, sorry about that.
In short, if LyX generates a LaTeX file which includes \usepackage{menukeys} and, if one has updated the LaTeX installation (in my case MacTeX) to current (Latex Fmt 2020-10-01) compilation to PDF triggers the error. I will try to make a MWE in LyX, but do not know how to force menukeys. In my handbook (20 child documents) I find menukeys close to listings (lyx -e luatex), so I assumed it had something to do with the listings package. greetings, el — Sent from Dr Lisse’s iPad Mini 5 On 17 Oct 2020, 06:53 +0200, Richard Kimberly Heck <rikih...@lyx.org>, wrote: > On 10/16/20 5:50 PM, Dr Eberhard W Lisse wrote: > > > > On 14/10/2020 11:25, Dr Eberhard Lisse wrote: > > > Hi, > > > > > > I have come across some really obscure errors when trying to compile > > > my previously mentioned handbook after upgrading LaTeX with the tlmgr > > > which I do at least weekly (on the Mac). > > > > > > The underlying reason is that changes have been made to LaTeX' > > > internal and in my case the catoptions.sty is implicated (but google > > > shows there are others). > > > > > > > > https://tex.stackexchange.com/questions/565937/catoptions-menukeys-packages-compilation-error/566042 > > [...] > > > > > > I find however in the exported tex file that it requires menukeys.sty. > > > > [...] > > \usepackage{listings} > > \usepackage{menukeys} > > \renewcommand{\lstlistingname}{Listing} > > [...] > > > > This causes it to bomb. > > > > If I just comment the menukeys line out it'll throw an error of > > undefined \cmdmac. > > > > So I wonder how do I get rid of menukeys? > > This message is not intelligible.
