Part no greater font size than Chapter/Section

Is there a reason that the font size for the Part layout is not greater 
than that for the Chapter (Book) or Section (Article) layout? There is a 
difference in size in both standard classes and KOMA script classes. I 
know LyX is not WYSIWYG but shouldn't there be some distinction in size 
anyway?
