Hi,
the problem is indeed independent from algorithms. And it is easily
reproducible, as I found out:
1. Open a new document
2. Insert a figure float
3. Insert a table into the figure (the table must have many rows
such that the table cannot be displayed completely on screen.
4. Start filling the columns from top to bottom.
At some point in time, the table is not repainted correctly and several layers
of text are printed.
