OTOH, "hand compiling" with non-TeX fonts works only for XeTeX, with LuaTeX, I get a pop-up window telling me: "The external program lualatex finiished with an error. It is recommended you fix the cause of the external program's error (check the logs)." (both with TeX fonts and non-TeX fonts). "Document>LaTeX Log" is still grey. When opening LyX from an X-terminal, the output there is Unable to read environment locale: exit now. support/Systemcall.cpp (291): Systemcall: 'lualatex "Braille.tex"' finished with exit code 1 Error: LaTeX failed ---------------------------------------- The external program lualatex finished with an error. It is recommended you fix the cause of the external program's error (check the logs). >> export/examples/ko/cjk-ko-doc_pdf4_systemF > The preamble tries to load Latin Modern Roman when fontspec is used. > This does not work with XeTeX, as XeTeX (as opposed to LuaTeX) does not > find fonts in the texmf tree (only fonts installed in the OS). This explains why it works fine here (I have LM otf fonts installed system-wide.) > Using another font which we can assume is widely installed on OSes will > fix it. Done (using DejaVu Sans).
