That is true but it also has available a tool set with gcc 8, currently it is gcc-8.2.1. <http://mirror.centos.org/centos/7/sclo/x86_64/rh/devtoolset-8/> The only gotcha is that it still uses the old C++ ABI. When 2.4 is released I intend to update the lyx version also on epel-7. -- José Abílio
