Because you can only insert one list at once via the Insert menu
("Contents" and "References" are pluralia tantum here).
This is correct if the entry name means "Choose a list, the table of Contents or
the bib refrerences style". It might also mean "Choose among lists, table of
Contents or bib refrerences style".
