Could you give me a screenshot or something? Maybe it is the QT version? LyX Version 2.4.0dev (Wednesday, 8 May 2019) Built from git commit hash c34624e2 Library directory: /usr/local/src/lyx/lib/ User directory: ~/.lyx2.4/ Qt Version (run-time): 5.7.1 Qt Version (compile-time): 5.7.1 All this on Debian/stable. No screenshot, sorry, but some description for doc/Intro.lyx: * no problem, if LyX is the last word in a line "Introduction to LyX", "Philosophy of LyX", ... * author line becomes "by the LyXTeam"[foot] (in the PDF "by the LyX Team") with whitespace between LyX and Team) * "?" printed over the "X" in "What is LyX?". Hope this helps a bit, Günter
