FWIW I am aware that I am getting into weird corners. :-) To put things into perspective I am parsing a directory with .m files (octave/ matlab) to get the documentation and to generate automatically a reference manual. Since I do not want to pollute the current working directory with the latex run debris (I now how to invoke latex to use a temporary directory) I use lyx to import the corresponding latex file and to preview it. I let lyx do the dirty job while at the same time testing the latex import. :-) If there are no side issues this could be backported to 2.3.x, no? Thank you, :-) -- José Abílio
