Makes sense. I'm still on 5.6 for my main computer. [The rest of this paragraph is off-topic]. I used to custom-compile Qt dev to try to help catch regressions in Qt that affect LyX. I actually found the dev version to be surprisingly stable, but with my poor knowledge of low-level Qt (e.g., even creating a minimal example Qt program of some behavior I see in LyX can be hard for me), and also I'm not even sure how to do a git bisect because I don't know Git submodules well. So in the end, I found that the benefit was not worth the trouble. In any case, I'm very glad that some people are trying out LyX with the latest Qt versions. Scott
