1.) select oxygen in Tools->Preferences...->Look & Feel->User Interface->Icon
set:
2.) select Enabled in Tools->Preferences...->File
Handling->Converters->Converter File Cache
3.) select ON in Tools->Preferences...->Look & Feel->Display->Instant Preview:
4.) restart lyx (THIS IS IMPORTANT)
5.) open doc/attic/eu_UserGuide.lyx
6.) For instance go to section 5.1.4, first graphic
for reference
7.) disable file cache
8.) restart lyx
9.) go to section 5.1.4, first graphic, looks much better
