I'm planning to announce 2.3.0 around 17h00 UTC unless someone reports a
major issue and suggests delaying.

The biggest pending issue is that the 2.3.0 Windows binary is not
working for racoon, but perhaps this is because of having tested
pre-releases. The Windows installer seems to work fine for a couple of
others on the list, so I'm not sure what's wrong.
It looks to me as though we have a problem on Windows. At least two
users reported
a failure to find pdflatex.exe after installation. I'd prefer to delay
the release rather than
have that problem affect tons of people.

2.3.0 is working fine for me on windows 7. For the platex error that some have reported, this seems to recur periodically and seems to be a MiKTeX error (see Georg's response at https://marc.info/?l=lyx-users&m=151983694513508&w=2, at the time of 2.2.0). At the end of January into mid-February, MiKTeX did a major updating of its files. Perhaps a good first step for people having problems would be to ensure they have updated their MiKTeX installation?

I've tried compiling all the help docs. The Introduction required the installation of the fpl fonts package, which is a new requirement, and the Math manual reports a "Counter too large" error at the equation "D=big Latin". Otherwise everything compiles without problem.
