Oops, the .lyx files I had attached do have knitr Chunks, but the above steps are correct to reproduce the problem. I originally noticed it with knitr Chunks and then realized I could reproduce with ERT so I made the steps with ERT, but forgot to change the example .lyx files to ERT. > What I do not understand > is why " inserts a quote inset there.
