Ah dang, I did not read closely enough. The earliest commit I've recently successfully compiled is d553938c (Dec 9, 2014), and the behavior there is the same as current 2.3.x branch. I remember trying to compile earlier commits and failing. I guess we would have to install Ubuntu 12.04 in a virtual box, in order to bisect. Scott
