Note that the additional spacing added at 4cb5cc0c is probably enough
to fix the issue, since it increases the spacing a bit. However, making
inactive corners really inactive (68614e97) is a nice feature, and I
think it is nice to backport it to 2.3.x too, even if you want it only
for later.
Both patches are safe IMO. They should not make anything worse, at worst
they will not be sufficient.
