Hello Kornel

After:

$ cd ../buildmastercmake/
$ rm -rf *
$  cmake -DLYX_ENABLE_EXPORT_TESTS=ON -DLYX_RELEASE=ONb -DLYX_PROGRAM_SUFFIX=ON
-DLYX_ENABLE_CXX11=AUTO -DLYX_USE_QT=QT5 -DLYX_INSTALL_PREFIX="git-" ../master

You mean -DLYX_RELEASE=ON

Oups, an extra 'b' slipped in

I use also -DLYX_LOCALVERSIONING=ON
but no -DLYX_INSTALL_PREFIX=
Why do you use it?

Copied from a example on the mailing list... I'll remove it.
What does LOCALVERSIONING do?

I simply don't see such behaviour.
Please try
        # strace -o x -f bin/lyx2.3
and check for string 'open' in file 'x'.

I don't understand, I can load bin/lyx2.3 all right now.
