Well this is normal LyX-Developers attitude and all of us try to answer

Sorry maybe I'm dumb, but I still don't understand what you mean. If I
enter a table cell there is no selection and (for now) I can toggle fonts
only if I explicitely select some text. The only thing which applies to
the cell/row/column are the stuff inside the tabular-layout, but IMO
that should be that way.

Well the rest should be answered by a fellow developers colleague of me
who's using emacs-keybinding for LyX (I'm using Emacs but I use cua-bindings
for LyX as I feel more comfortable with them), therefore I Cc this mail
to lyx-devel.

I've seen someone sending a patch for serbo-croatian languages on the
lyx-devel list (I cannot remember if it was you), but that is the right
place to send such patches.
