Weird. I just recompiled lyx-1.2.0cvs and it definitely works fine here
on my Solaris and Linux boxes.
It has to be a system-specific problem. The only reason they might
behave differently is if the lyx-1.2.0cvs is somehow
setting some TEX* environment variables.
Try moving your .lyx directory and letting lyx-1.2.0cvs create a new
one for you... Does that help?
