On Reverse search LyX puts the cursor at a position only *close* to but
not exactly at the position chosen in the pdf document. It is a bit
tricky for me to always find the former position in my document. Since
it is anyway not the exact position maybe it is possible to select the
whole line(s) rather than a close position?
You can try it in master after 5fbbf0f2.
Thanks. For some reason I cannot get Reverse search to work with
Sumatra. Maybe I set something wrong in preferences that I overlook?

If it is relevant, since I'm using LyX 2.2.2, I have forward and inverse
search working with Sumatra and, as far as I can see, accurately picking
out the relevant line in both directions. I followed the instructions on
the wiki which I found clear.
The lyxpipe stuff in your prefs doesn't occur in mine.
