Hi,

When I try to enter "{mathcal sometext}" inside math mode (by doing "^m \
{ \ mathcal <sometext>"), TeX is fine with what I did (I wrote some text
using the calligraphic AMS font.) However, when I save and then attempt
to load the file, I get errors; any equation that contains a mathcal is
erased and replaced with an empty box. In the latest LyX, 1.1.6fix1, I
get these three errors:

Math parse error: Expected {. Maybe you forgot to enclose an argument in
{}
InsetFormula::Read: Garbage before \end_inset, or missing \end_inset!
InsetFormula::Read: Garbage before \end_inset, or missing \end_inset!

and in the latest version in Debian, 1.1.5fix2, I just get the first
error. If I change "mathcal" to "matcal" or "mathcaj" the error vanishes,
though of course the file is no longer valid LaTeX. Also, I don't get the
error if I format the equation by typing "\ mathcal \ {" instead of
putting the mathcal inside the braces. Strange, this whole time I've had
no problem putting keywords inside braces. Anyway, since I found an
alternative method of inputting "mathcal" I'm not very concerned, but this
kind of error, where something is destroyed after it is apparently saved
successfully upon the file being opened again, can be quite irritating, so
I hope you can fix it for the next release.
