then you misunderstood me. If I explicitly execute the Cmake target
"layouttranslations1" i expect to get the error if polib cannot be found
but when I compile in install mode there is now need to execute this
target and it is already not called. The bug is now that I cannot
compile because of the missing polib although the layout target is not
called.
Moreover, I still don't know from where I can install this
library. This info should be added to our install.xxx files.

thanks, So this is a package not distributed with standard Python. This
should be documented together with the link about how to install it.
